Would be 5 stars but lately for some reason the app will trigger ANR popups constantly after the slight 4-8 second pause before a game is loaded, and it sucks because the app is so very clearly working perfectly, even the game in the background. I wish I could disable the damn warning for this app alone because clicking wait just causes it to keep repeating. *12/24 I thought I had fixed it by installing a different version but it has started throwing ANRs again.2025-07-26 14:43:15

RetroArch is quite simply the most robust emulation suite on all systems it's available on, including Android. Not only that, I've tested it with phones dating all the way back to the OnePlus One, and it's worked perfectly on all of them. It offers a huge selection of cores and many GUI interface options for screen overlays when you're playing your games with a touch screen. It has worked perfectly with every single controller I tried pairing this device with, and the level of responsiveness this app has is only slightly hindered by the rather archaic-looking, slightly cumbersome menu systems. A modified version of the PC menu system would come a long way towards making this snappier (especially if you're using a controller which I hope you are). Retroarch is the swiss army knife of emulators, it does a bit of eveything but doesn't perfect anything compared to standalone emulators and launchers. If you want an all-in-one solution, this is it, bad UI and all. That said, DO NOT download it from the Play Store as it's outdated by years. This emulator is great, you're easily able to switch between games and cores very easily ànd it even has RetroArchievements support. However, I have only given this 4 stars, as it doesn't have the ability to modify the mobile controls, such as with resizing, removing certain buttons and moving them around. The buttons are too small for me, where I can use them, but they're hard to have to deal with. There are also a lot of buttons I don't ever use. The perfect one-stop emulator. The menus are a bit hard to navigate (especially the default one) but once you get used to it you can personalize it however you like.
