Crunchyroll has officially unveiled the second full trailer for Oshi no Ko Season 3, along with a brand-new key visual and the announcement of the ending theme song. Fans can mark their calendars, as the highly anticipated third season of the pop idol drama will premiere in Japan on January 14, 2026, and stream globally on Crunchyroll as it airs.

The Anime You Can't Miss

If you’re just joining the ride, here’s the deal: Oshi no Ko dives deep into the glittering—and surprisingly dark — entertainment industry. It all starts when idol Ai Hoshino visits Dr. Gorou Amemiya’s clinic during her pregnancy. After Gorou secretly delivers her baby, tragedy strikes: Ai is targeted by a stalker, and Gorou dies. But wait… he’s reborn as Aqua Hoshino, Ai’s child, and suddenly the innocent kid is navigating the cutthroat entertainment world.

The story begins with Goro, a gynecologist who is a fan of an idol (Ai Hoshino). He dies unexpectedly, then is reborn as his favourite idol’s child (Aqua). He enters the entertainment industry to uncover truths behind his mother’s death and the dark side of show business.

The manga, created by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, ran from April 2020 to November 2024, selling over 20 million copies and snagging first place in the Next Manga Awards 2021. The first two seasons of the anime were critical darlings, and the series even expanded into live-action films and dramas.

Season 3: Bigger, Bolder, and Darker

Fast forward six months after “POP IN 2”, and Season 3 is bringing new drama, new ambitions, and new heartache. B-Komachi, the rising idol group, is on the verge of stardom thanks to MEMcho. Aqua is flexing his multi-talented entertainer skills, Akane Kurokawa is slaying it as an actress, and poor Kana Arima is grappling with the loss of her former brightness.

Oshi no Ko Season 3 Main Visual

Meanwhile, Ruby Hoshino is climbing the entertainment ladder like a master strategist, using lies as her weapon to uncover the truth behind Ai and Gorou’s deaths. The stakes? High. Emotional. Unmissable.

Trailer, Key Visual & Music That Hits Hard

The new trailer is everything fans hoped for: suspense, glitz, and just the right amount of jaw-dropping moments. Paired with the key visual showcasing Ruby, Aqua, and the gang, it teases just how intense this season is going to get.

And let’s talk music. The ending theme, “Serenade” by Natori, dives into Aqua’s emotional depth. Natori said, “The more I tried to understand him as a person, the more I felt as though I was sinking into an inescapable darkness. I created this song wishing that, at least during the time this music plays, he could rest peacefully.”. Yes, fans, we are emotionally prepared.
